Tragedy Strikes Yet Again
December 17, 2107, Sunday evening around 5:30 p.m., Vernice was walking westward on Euclid Avenue near East 196th Street. A speeding car hit-skip her from behind. The impact caused trauma that left her in critical condition. Unfortunately, a short time later at University Hospital she was pronounced dead at 5:53 p.m.
Was she attacked by the emerging Cleveland Strangler?
“Police and prosecutors have said for years she was not attacked by Anthony Sowell. And that there is no” physical evidence” linking her sexual assault that also included strangulation, to the “Cleveland Strangler.” -5 WEWS NEWS
Is that true?
Allow Vernice Crutcher to tell you in her own words.
(Interview with Cleveland 19 News Scott Taylor that never aired)
Scott: “Why is it important to tell your story now?”
Vernice: “I want justice. That’s all I ever wanted.”
The fact is the CME (County Medical Examiner) has had Vernice’s “physical evidence” for years. Her gray watch and ring were discovered in a coroner’s photograph. It depicts an array of the 11-Women of Imperial Avenue victims’ jewelry retrieved from Sowell’s home.
How did Ms. Crutcher’s items (and there are more in their inventory) end up at Mr. Sowell’s 12205 Imperial Avenue? (Less than 3-miles from abandoned house)
He was the then nameless assailant that took it from her inside an abandoned house, (6900 block of Kinsman Avenue) June 18, 2006.
The 11-Women of Imperial Avenue murders started approximately June 2007 – September 2009.
Did you know Crystal Dozier, the first victim, according to CPD Imperial Avenue Timeline and Related events, states “Ms. Dozier lived within the 6900 block of Kinsman Avenue.” Same as Vernice’s crime scene.
